Are you a manager with a strong engineering background in IT and excellent communication skills? Do you want to help NN to become more digital and drive NN’s compelling engineering craftmanship ambition? Then please read on for more details about this challenging job

What you are going to do

• Define a clear and widely accepted strategy for the development of our engineering practice. This includes, among other things, our way of working, the use of AI, engineering standards, skill set development and methods to ensure software quality
• Collaborate with our engineering managers to lead this development across all DevOps teams within C&D
• Act as a liaison between C&D and other heads of engineering and guilds throughout NN
• Lead two enablement teams: the Center of Engineering (COE) and the Performance and Monitoring Team (PMT), consisting of 9 FTE in total — 7 FTE based in the Netherlands and 2 FTE officially assigned to the Madrid IT Hub, operating primarily from other locations across Spain
• Play a crucial role in the development of C&D's digital strategy, technology roadmap, workforce development, and the empowered product teams capability
• Take on an important functional role in the recruitment and development of engineering managers
• Ensure a healthy financial position and manage the contracts that fall under your responsibility

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in computer science or a related field
• 10-15 years of experience in engineering and change management, ideally within the financial industry, with a proven ability to combine an innovative vision with hands on execution
• Strong capability to collaborate and communicate with diverse groups of stakeholders in a complex organization, earning broad acceptance from senior management
• An approachable personality who enjoys teamwork and is skilled at opening doors and building long-lasting business relationships
• A balanced 'natural leader' who stands firm and can thrive in a demanding, complex, and dynamic environment while coordinating multiple projects
• A highly organized IT professional with strong business acumen, a 'can-do' mentality, and a drive for innovation

You will work closely with senior IT and business managers, engineering managers, product managers, product owners, engineers, and HR colleagues, both within and outside of C&D.

C&D connects the Business Units of NN with our shared customers. This means that C&D IT is responsible for all generic digital platforms and capabilities used within NN to serve our customers. These key components support our digital client portals, apps, and AI/chatbot technology, enabling NN to deliver a digital, personalized, and relevant service offering to our customers.
